Regarded as one of the finest interpreters of Classical and Romantic piano repertoire, Imogen Cooper is internationally renowned for her virtuosity and lyricism.
In 2015 she founded the Imogen Cooper Music Trust to support young pianists and give them time in an environment of peace and beauty. In 2020 she was the first pianist to be awarded The Queen’s Medal for Music. In 2021 Imogen received a DBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
‘Imogen is one of the greatest musicians England has produced. She’s utterly without show. Mozart, Schumann and Schubert could have been written for her. There’s a poetic, reflective side to her which is always there in her playing.’
Sir Simon Rattle
